GLIL wins Infrastructure Manager of the Year Award

GLIL Infrastructure (GLIL) has won the Infrastructure Manager of the Year Award at the 12th Annual European Pensions Awards.

This was recognition of GLIL by the European Pensions Awards that honour the investment firms, consultancies and pension providers across Europe that have set the professional standards in order to best serve European pension funds in these increasingly challenging times.

The other entries in the Infrastructure Manager of the Year category included Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (last year’s winner),  Infracapital, KGAL and Pantheon.

On receiving the award, Ted Frith, COO at GLIL, commented: “We are delighted that the judges recognised GLIL’s innovative approach to investing in infrastructure and the clear benefits that can accrue from the pooling of capital and resources.”

The award comes after a successful 12 months for GLIL which included investments in Forth Ports and Semperian. In October last year, GLIL also received a further £550m commitment from its local authority pension fund partners, bringing total capital raised to £1.8bn.
